Born in Augsburg, Germany, Nick's parents were both enlisted soldiers. With dreams to become a Navy SEAL nick started training young and by 16 had his scuba liscense through the Navy sea cadet program. Unfortunately Nick did not pass the colorblind test to be a Navy SEAL. Nick then joined the Army where he was the first african american sniper in the 3rd battalion. In the Army he became one of the best snipers securing 33 kills with his Sr-25 nicknamed Dirty Diana.
